A good look for multilingual texts
Eurolook automates the creation and processing of diverse document types ranging from letters, to contracts, to speeches, and it preserves the integrity of the European Commission’s visual identity. And all this in every official EU language.
The point of departure was an individual solution that had been used by the European Commission for years.
We completely reworked the aging application, placing our emphasis on flexibility, ease of extension, and an intuitive and modern user interface.
Following intensive requirements engineering and prototype development, the outdated existing system was replaced by a state-of-the-art solution that fully meets the customer’s expectations for such a multilingual document processing system.
„All my congratulations to Dialogika for the new Eurolook that I finally got on my PC !!! Wonderful.“
What does Eurolook have to offer?
The standard version includes 10 document types (e.g. note, letter, contract, etc.) that can be automatically customized according to department or work area, as needed. The documents created with Eurolook contain a suitable format for every document type (Commission logo, etc.), author details (name, initials, department, section, etc.) and other text elements (references, CC, etc.). This means, a large organization like the European Commission can maintain its standard visual identity without losing the individual looks of its members: their individual logos, specialized formats, etc., are supported.
Eurolook makes drafting fully structured and formatted documents easy. Styles are at the heart of Eurolook’s editing support. The standard set of commands for applying headings and numbered lists or inserting a table of contents is extended by custom-made commands supporting document type-specific requirements (e.g. document quality checks) or workflow-related features (e.g. metadata support or integration with SharePoint).Eurolook is linked to various systems of the European Commission’s IT infrastructure in order to keep data that represents an essential part of the visual identity up-to-date. Adding interfaces to further systems and extending and enhancing Eurolook’s feature set are an on-going process.
