The European Commission’s nuclear science web portal Nucleonica provides an integrated environment and infrastructure for international collaboration on nuclear research and development.
It features a knowledge management tool which makes know how about nuclear science, accrued over decades, available to the public, by offering web-based representations of existing computer data.
Besides scientific databases, interactive and practical-oriented applications (e.g. radioactive decay calculations, dosimetry and shielding), Nucleonica also includes a social network for scientists and anyone else interested in radioactivity.
One place for all
Nucleonica is available worldwide for any professionals, academics and students having to do with radioactive materials. It addresses various fields such as biology, medicine, agriculture, geology, meteorology, and environmental science, but also the traditional disciplines having to do with nuclear materials such as nuclear energy, radiation therapy, radiation protection, nuclear and radiochemistry as well as astrophysics.
